Eat Spain, Drink Spain 2026 Comes to the Outer Banks with VNE Importers
Vin Noir Explorers & Importers is participating in Eat Spain, Drink Spain 2026 in the United States, bringing a series of Spanish wine tastings and food-and-wine experiences to the Outer Banks of North Carolina throughout September and October.
For wine lovers across Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head and the surrounding Outer Banks, it is an opportunity to explore Spain one glass at a time, without booking a flight across the Atlantic. VNE Importers is partnering with local restaurants, markets and wine retailers to host a series of approachable experiences focused on Spanish wine, regional identity, small producers and the connection between what is in the glass and what is on the table.
What Is Eat Spain, Drink Spain?
Eat Spain, Drink Spain is an international celebration of Spanish food, wine, and gastronomy led by ICEX Spain Trade & Investment through Foods & Wines from Spain and the #SpainFoodNation initiative.
The 2026 campaign brings Spanish products directly to consumers through restaurants, retailers, wine shops, tastings, culinary experiences, and other hospitality partners worldwide. In the United States, the fall 2026 celebration runs from September 11 through October 6, with participating businesses across the country creating opportunities to discover Spanish wines and foods.
Spain Is Not One Wine Story
Trying to describe “Spanish wine” as a single style is a little like trying to describe American food with one dish. Spain stretches from the cool, Atlantic-influenced vineyards of the northwest to Mediterranean landscapes, high-elevation plateaus and regions where generations of growers have learned how to make wine in hot, dry conditions.
That diversity is why a Spanish wine tasting can move from something crisp, bright, and mineral to a structured red with depth and spice without ever leaving the same country.
Tempranillo may be one of Spain's most recognizable grapes, but it is only part of the story. Garnacha, Albariño, Godello, Verdejo, Mencía, Monastrell, and countless regional varieties help create one of the most varied wine cultures in the world. Foods & Wines from Spain similarly highlights this depth of grapes and styles as a defining part of the 2026 campaign.

Call to reserve a spot at (252) 261-0277

September 29 - Marsh Fox Market
Nags Head, North Carolina
6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
At Marsh Fox Market, the focus returns to small producers, Spanish wine, and the stories behind the regions represented in each glass.
October 1 - Stormy Seas Bottle Shop
Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina
6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
The series continues at Stormy Seas Bottle Shop with a lineup of Spanish wines paired with market snacks. Guests will taste through the wines while exploring the regions, producers, and traditions behind them, because knowing why a wine tastes the way it does makes the next sip a little more interesting.
Bringing a Little More of Spain to the Outer Banks
VNE Importers was built around a fairly simple idea: great wine should lead you somewhere. Sometimes that means finding a small vineyard thousands of miles away that is doing something remarkable. Sometimes it means helping a restaurant build a more interesting wine program. And sometimes it means gathering a dozen people around a table in the Outer Banks and opening bottles they might never have discovered otherwise.
Eat Spain, Drink Spain gives us an opportunity to do all three.
As an importer and distributor, our relationship with wine starts long before the bottle reaches a shelf. We get to learn about the producers, regions, grapes, and decisions that shaped it. These events allow us to share more of that journey directly with the people drinking the wine. You don't need to be a wine expert to join us. Curiosity is enough.
